Role: Desktop Support Engineer
Location: South Leicester
Salary: £30,000£28,000 + Benefits and Mileage
Skills: Windows 8, MS Server, VMware, Cisco, Exchange, Active Directory

Syntax are working on behalf of a growing IT service company to recruit a Desktop Support Engineer. You will be predominantly working on a single client site in Leicestershire but you may be asked to provide assistance at Satellite offices across the Midlands during major implementation projects, because of this the you will need to have your own car and full UK Driving Licence.

You will be supporting a predominate Microsoft environment as such you will need to have strong Second line /3rd line support skills and be confident in dealing with issues via remote access, desk side or telephone.

Skills required:
Experience of maintaining and supporting Microsoft office environments ( Windows 7/8, Exchange, Active Directory, Outlook /Webmail).
Strong knowledge of Cisco networks and network devises.
Experience of operating and maintaining a multi-server environment ( Windows server 2008 R2 / 2012).
Exposure to virtualised environments, ideally VMware.
Experience of maintaining a range of networking and standalone hardware and an ability to keep abreast of technology changes and innovation.
Carrying out routine network management tasks including daily backups, anti-virus checking and other housekeeping tasks
Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.
Respond to incidents logged by the 1st line team.

Ability to work effectively with personnel from different teams within the company.
Excellent customer handling and inter-personal skills.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Good time management and punctuality.
