Trial Site Manager

Salary: £30,000 – £42,000 per year

Family Tree Farms UK division are delighted to announce that we have now opened an R&D Soft Fruit Trials facility located nearby Stirling in Scotland.

Job purpose:

To ensure smooth running of Soft Fruit R&D Trial Site.

Trial Site Manager duties and responsibilities:

• Maintenance of Trial Site
• • Daily routine checks of watering, venting, and working order of farm equipment
  • Liaising with agronomists and irrigation suppliers

• Crop Management
  
  • of raspberry and strawberry production: crop walking, pest and disease monitoring & production forecasting
  • Husbandry activities (canopy management, weeding, spawn removal, debris removal, biological control application, occasional knapsack spraying)

• Forecasting the need for additional labour for picking
  
  • Periodical supervision of additional staff

• Fruit Assessments and Data Collection
  
  • Planning and execution of picking, tasting and fruit quality assessments
  • Collating data and report preparation

• Organising tasting sessions for FTF staff and visitors

 Advantageous skills:

Knowledge and experience in soft fruit production systems, pests and disease recognition.

• Position: Trial Site Manager
• Location: Stirlingshire, Scotland
• Salary: £30,000 – £42,000per annum (depending on experience, paid monthly in arrears)
• Private Health Care: Bupa health plan
• Pension Scheme: 4% employer contribution, regardless of how much you pay in
• Hours of work: 8.30 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Friday with occasional weekend cover as required.
