Our client is an environmental and waste management company operating a permitted hazardous waste transfer station in the North West. The Company supports a wide range of clients in the safe and environmentally responsible disposal of their hazardous waste. A vacancy currently exists for a Site Chemist. The main purpose of the role is to conduct acceptance analysis on incoming waste, ensuring that wastes are suitably and safely stored on site and arranging dispatch to disposal outlets.

Main Duties:

* Check incoming loads against the transport documentation and materials expected.

* Highlight any differences and communicate these to site management and sales.

* Mark all items with appropriate disposal route and assign to appropriate storage location area.

* Generate outgoing lists from material on site and obtain booking slots from appropriate third-party disposal outlets.

* Ensure all stock is in the correct location according to hazard and that containers are providing adequate containment.

Candidate Requirements:

* Minimum HNC level in Chemistry (or applicable scientific field).

* Experience working with hazardous waste.

* A counterbalance forklift truck licence (desirable).

* ADR Licence (desirable).

* First Aid at Work certificate (desirable).

This is a permanent job opportunity, 40 hrs per week, 7am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.
