Financial Controller

Salary: £66,000 – £72,000 per year

Anderson Knight is working closely with a manufacturing organisation based in the Stirling area to recruit a Financial Controller. The ideal candidate will have a background within either the manufacturing or FMCG sectors. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for a team of four accountants.

The role is pretty hands on as you will be working closely with the finance team to ensure month-end deadlines are met. You will also be responsible for more senior financial responsibilities such as partnering with senior management to provide key financial analysis and strategic financial advice. There is set career progression in a few year times to the position of Financial Director.

The main responsibilities the Financial Controller position entails are:

* Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organisational structure adequate for achieving the department’s goals and objectives

* Oversee the accounting operations of subsidiary corporations, especially their control systems, transaction-processing operations

* Issue timely and complete financial statements and reports

* Work closely with the senior management team to provide analysis and strategic financial advice in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions and contract negotiations

* Direct management of four accountants

To be considered for the Financial Controller position you must possess the following:

* An accountancy qualification (CIMA/CA/ACCA)

* Ideally previous experience working within the manufacturing or FMCG sectors

* Strong communication skills

* A proactive approach to work

* The ability to solve complex problems
