Senior Operations Analyst

Salary: £26.4 – £32.4 per hour

Our local authority client has a 6-month contract vacancy (with the possibility of extension) for the role of a SENIOR OPERATIONS ANALYST, details as follows

Job Purpose

• To ensure the high availability, integrity and security of all Corporate physical / virtual servers and associated devices both on premise and in the cloud.
• To ensure the high availability, integrity and security of all DR (ASR) virtual servers and associated devices.
• To ensure the high availability, integrity and security of the Corporate, VDI and Database Storage Area Networks (SAN) and associated devices.
• To be responsible for the delivery, integrity and security for remote applications system (Citrix) to customers working from home or in the office.

Responsibilities

• To design, install, manage, operate, troubleshoot, develop, and support all IT infrastructure.
• To manage the performance and capacity of the Corporate SAN. Failure to manage this infrastructure, resulting in the loss of the Corporate SAN, will affect all Corporate systems resulting in the loss of Critical business services.
• To manage the performance of the Corporate & Citrix vmWare infrastructure. Failure to manage this, resulting in the loss of the Corporate and/or Citrix vmWare infrastructure, will affect Corporate and/or Citrix systems resulting in the loss of Critical business services.
• To assist with and manage ICT tasks and activities to effect the migration to Microsoft 365.
• To help design the Councils new DR facility in the Azure Site recovery cloud.
• To act as an ICT expert in matters relating to the above systems providing advice and support.
• To develop and maintain processes and procedures associated with the above systems.

Essential Requirements

• GCSE grade C, or equivalent, in English, Mathematics and ICT.
• At least 3 years’ experience managing ICT infrastructure and systems for a large organisation.
• At least 3 years’ experience in managing vmWare systems for a large organisation.
• At least 3 years’ experience in managing Citrix (or similar) systems for a large organisation.
• An in-depth knowledge of datacenter operations, security and high availability.
• In-depth level expertise in Microsoft Operating Systems, Active Directory, Azure and Microsoft SCCM.

This role is a mix of home based and office working styles with a minimum of 2 days in Market Street.
