Manufacturing Engineer

Salary: £48,000 – £60,000 per year

My client are a leading supplier of added value engineering products for the automotive sector based in the heart of Fens.

With an enviable product range manufactured across four modern sites, they have experienced a huge period of growth through acquisition and an ambitious sales plan, seeing them enter new markets and develop relationships with some of the UK’s best known businesses.

As part of their growth, they are looking to recruit a talented manufacturing engineer to oversee and improve manufacturing processes. The manufacturing engineers responsibilities include identifying areas for improvement, maintaining high levels of manufacturing and product quality, designing new processes, as well as ensuring cost efficiency and conformance with regulatory standards.

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

– Evaluating quality control processes and making/leading recommendations for improvements
– Identify faults and investigate production problems
– Seek to improve current operational processes
– Analysing and reporting on productions processes, methods and schedules, downtimes, cycle times, machine availability and wastage.
– Coordinate maintenance and repair services to keep production equipment operational
– Improve manufacturing efficiency by analysing and planning workflow

Ideally you will be degree qualified in an engineering or related discipline, or have vocational work based qualifications relevant to the role. A background in the automotive or engineering sector is essential, and be able to demonstrate a wide ranging skill set in the use of project management processes, lean and modern manufacturing tools. Strong continuous improvement knowledge is essential, along with knowledge of CAD and other productions systems. Strong communication skills aligned the ability to communicate effectively at all levels is highly sought after skill for this role.
