Senior Child Care Practitioners Required in Bedford

The Role

We are looking for Senior Child Care Practitioners to provide care and support to children aged 10-18 years with social, emotional and behavioural needs, based in Bedford. You will be based within the residential home and may also be required to support within the school during term time.

Child Care Practitioners are required to work from a rota and therefore must be flexible working across a range of shifts. A portion of your shifts will involve you attending meetings and undertaking training. There is also the opportunity to complete overtime upon authorisation by the Line Manager if you so wish.

You will help to provide social, physical and emotional care for the young people in both their domestic, personal and educational life, working with a team of staff to maintain a happy and supportive environment.

Skills and experience required

The ideal applicant will have:

*Qualified to NVQ 3 for Children and Young People’s Workforce
*At least 2 years of experience in a residential child care setting and an understanding of working with children and young people
*A desire to want to work with children and young people and a desire to make a difference to their lives
*The ability to work on a rota shift basis including early and late shifts, weekends and sleep-ins.
*A strong work ethic and the ability to work within a small team
*Good report writing skills
*Must be at least 21 years old (National Minimum Standards)
*Must hold a full manual driving licence
