Working in a complex precision engineering environment the Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for supporting both the current range of products as well as new product developments.

Other responsibilities include: Designing and developing key consumable items for the machines to improve performance and output; supporting the introduction of new machining technology and techniques; Working with the production teams designing jigs and fixtures to support automated manufacturing; investigate new designs, materials, hardening processes and surface finishing techniques to improve the performance of the components and reduce costs.

In order to be considered for this position candidate’s need to have proven design experience using Pro Engineer, Wildfire or Creo Cad packages. In addition to this candidates need to have proven experience designing from initial concept to completion. It would be advantageous to have gained experience in the design of special purpose machinery, mechanisms, automated machines, pneumatics, hydraulics, belts, drives or motors.

The position of Mechanical Design Engineer is commutable from Burnley, Preston, Wigan, Bolton, Halifax, Rochdale, Blackpool, Manchester and other areas in Lancashire, Merseyside and the North West.
