Salary: £42,000 – £60,000 per year
Our client is one of the world’s largest integrated international container transportation and logistics companies, and they are currently looking for a Sales Manager to join their logistics team in Ipswich, however this is a national role and so the individual must be prepared to travel around the UK as required to meet customers. The successful Sales Manager will receive a salary of £42,000 – £60,000depending on experience, plus benefits.
As the Sales Manager, you will be selling advanced supply chain logistics management services (‘ISCMS’) as well as FCL, LCL, air freight forwarding and customs brokerage services. This role is NOT limited to the traditional selling of ocean freight rates; they need someone who will comprehensively learn what products the company offer and why clients should choose them over our competitors.
Requirements for the Sales Manager:
At least 2 years sales experience.
Understand and actively target the right clients to fit our products – predominantly but not limited to UK retail importers and Far East and India Subcontinent trade.
Comfortable with Change Management – agility is required to keep up with the company direction and a rapidly changing logistics, shipping and I.T. environment.
Maintain healthy working relationships and gain the trust of their existing customer base.
Identify business development potential in existing clients to increase profitability of accounts.
Have a working knowledge of the logistics and shipping industries in order to have informed, consultative style interactions with their clients.
Good administrative capability.
The successful candidate must produce accurate quotes.
A good communicator, including working with their Inside Sales and Customer Services departments, as well as weekly reporting of activities via the company CRM software.
Coverage of clients is handled on an ad hoc basis, i.e. not necessarily limited to specific geographies within the UK.
