Non LGV (7.5t Driver) Transporter Driver

XP Recruitment are recruiting for a Non LGV (7.5T driver) transporter driver for our client in Bedford. This is an 8 week temp to perm which will result in a full-time position.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

• To ensure the safe and secure delivery and collection of vehicles
• To comply with company standards, rules and regulations and any customer requirements

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Ensure transporters are roadworthy and comply with legal requirements.
• Ensure the safety and security of the vehicles.
• Comply with Safe Loading and Health and Safety Laws at all times.
• Communicate with external customers and liaise with internal customers where appropriate.
• Liaise with line manager to discuss work related issues.
• Update records accurately.
• Perform vehicle condition checks and record any visible damage.
• Provide cover at other sites when required.
• Plan efficient routes.
• Wear the agreed uniform at all times.
• Make contact with the customer in a timely manner and keep updated with any delays or changes.
• Attend any required training or briefing sessions.
• Comply with all Tachograph laws and requirements.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• To undertake such other duties, as may be reasonably required, and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of the job.
• To maintain personal development to meet the changing demands of the job, participate in appropriate training activities.

To be considered for this role you must have the following knowledge/experience:

• Transporter driver experience is essential
• You must have a Digital Tachograph card and must have held your Non LGV Cat C1 (7.5T) entitlement for 2 years for insurance purposes.
• You must have no AC, BA, CD, DD, DR, IN, LC, MS, MW, TT or UT Endorsement Codes on your driving licence.
• You must be physically fit and be able to do 3 nights out a week
