Accountant / Bookkeeper

Sonning Golf Club seeks an accountant / bookkeeper with solid accounts experience, who can hit the ground running, with good communications skills, an outgoing personality and who seeks a varied hands-on role taking day to day responsibility for the whole accounting function.

Reporting to the General Manager, and head office finance function, the role takes responsibility for preparing and maintaining the accounts for the business.

This includes day to day recording of cash/credit cards, bank reconciliations, creating sales invoices, posting purchase and sales ledger, payroll, fixed asset register and the preparation of management accounts and year end accounts to trial balance level. Strong Excel skills are important, and a working knowledge of Sage Line 50, and Sage Payroll advantageous.

A full time role, but with the potential for flexible hours.

Sonning Golf Club, established 1914, is a proprietor’s club with an impressive pedigree. One of the ‘Great Triumvirate’ and a five time Open champion, JH Taylor, designed the original course layout with later input from Harry Colt. In addition to its golfing offer, the Club has a thriving food, beverage, weddings and functions business.
