Support Workers – Days or Waking Nights

My client is a privately owned small group of services that provide care and support for adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health issues. They are currently opening a new residential service in Shefford, Bedfordshire and seeking an initial staff team of 6 support workers for day shifts and 2 waking nights staff. The number of staff will increase as new service users join the service,

The successful candidate will either have NVQ 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent qualification, or be able to demonstrate of experience and sound knowledge of supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism and behaviours that challenge through voluntary work or experience within their family or social network.

You will be supporting service users in day to day life including enhancing life skills, taking part in social activities and when required support with personal care. You will have Strong verbal and written skills ensuring you are easily understood and a commitment to working as part of a team and upon your own initiative. You will need good IT skills as all paperwork will be stored electronically

Flexibility with working on a shift rota basis across 7 days a week, to meet the needs of the service including weekends, earlies, lates and waking nights. Long days are possible if the rota can support this.

A driving licence is desirable, but not essential. In order to drive the house vehicle you would need a clean driving licence,
Salary is in the range of £26,000depending on qualifications and experience
Hours – full time – 36 hours per week

For this service we are also seeking one senior support worker, who will lead shifts and assist the registered Manager in the day to day running of the service
