General Operatives – Slaughter Hall

We currently have a number of opportunities available working for our client based at Melton Mowbray as detailed below;

Loading Bay Operatives;
* 6.30 am – 3.30 pm Monday to Friday.
* A loading bay operative will be required to push carcases of beef out from the fridges and onto lorries to be sent away. This is a very labour intensive role and requires someone who is literate as you will be responsible for reading labels and organising the loads in a correct pattern onto a trailor.
* Previous loading bay experience is desirable, although not essential as full training will be given.
* £26,000 per year plus the kill bonus (this brings it to an average of about £26,000 per year)

Packing Operative;
* Work pattern to be from 6.30 – 3.30 pm.
* Responsible for packing chilled offal products – a quality background would be desirable.
* The successful candidate must have an eye for detail.
* You will be working as part of a team.
* £26,000 per year plus the kill bonus (this brings it to an average of about £26,000 per year)

Slaughter Hall Operatives;
* 8.00am – 5.00 pm Monday to Friday.
* As a Slaughter Hall Operative, you will be working with an experienced Operative to learn the junior roles on the line which include trimming fat of carcasses; cutting offal (hearts, lunges, kidneys, livers); cleaning the floors, and learning the slaughter hall production.
* This role reports to both the team leader and manager of the slaughter hall.
* All training provided but knife skill is an asset.

Stores Person;
* The successful candidate will need to be computer literate and knowledge of using Word and Excel are essential. We require someone who is able to work a flexible shift which can be from 6.00 am – 7pm 8 hours per day.
*You will also be responsible for our amenity block cleaning.

All of the above roles are temporary on-going and could lead to a permanent role for the right candidate.

Flexibility is required for the roles as you may be required to work overtime – All overtime is paid at a higher rate.

You will be given 2 x 30 minute unpaid breaks during your working day.
