GENERAL FACTORY OPERATIVE (Continental Shifts)

HORNCASTLE – & £26,000 per year, rising to & £26,000 per year after probationary period.

Our client, one of Europe`s largest and most innovative manufacturers of plastic piping products, who design, develop and manufacture product at their Lincolnshire site are looking to recruit a general labourer for their polymer processing factory. Ideally with a fork lift licence, you will be a team player, physically fit, able to follow instructions, and enjoy working in an often pressurised, but clean and warm, environment. A willingness to work is more important than experience in a similar background. The work is hard graft and continuous housekeeping is important in order to maintain the upkeep of this desirable work place. In addition, you may be required to work in other areas of the factory as dictated by production demands.

Key Responsibilities

– At all times keep in mind the Company`s Guiding Principles and Values.
– Check handover procedure and ensure all processes and machine settings are to production requirements.
– Unload bales and stack with forklift.
– Ensure that bales are spilt, placed on the conveyor in the correct manner.
– Monitor and check equipment and constantly ensure good housekeeping.
– Monitor flow of material through the plant.
– Quality checks are conducted and appropriate action taken.
– Check and monitor waste steams – empty and maintain waster stations and book as required.
– Complete daily checks on the plant.
– Support and assist in preventative maintenance.
– Check and monitor water treatment and flow levels.
– Operate compounders.
– Support and train new operators as and when required.
– In addition to the tasks in this job description your will be expected to carry out any other task that can be reasonably expected.

Health & Safety Responsibilities

– At all times work in a manner that ensures the safety of you and all others in the work area.
– Notify your Supervisor of any H&S risks, using the incident report form which is available in the Shift Leader`s office.
– Ensure all tasks are carried out to the Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) provided by the management.
– At all times have available in the work area and use the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the tasks you are carrying out.
– Only operate equipment which you have been trained to operate.

There is a rest room on site, with microwave etc, and vending machines provide free drinks, breaks are 2 x 20minutes each shift. You will be provided with the necessary PPE and a Polypipe uniform after probationary period. In addition, the company offer the following benefits:
