Work placements are an important part of the learning experience for many students here at Blackpool Sixth. After all, they help young people build the confidence and skills they need to get the jobs they want when they finish their studies.

We’re constantly looking to expand our range of work placements, which is why we want to grow our employer network across the local area. It’s also why we need you to take on this varied and hugely rewarding role. Establishing and building excellent working relationships with a wide range of businesses and voluntary organisations, you’ll identify and develop new placement opportunities. On top of that, you’ll liaise with teaching staff and students, match students to suitable placements and manage administration.

So this is your chance to make a real difference to young people as you support them to achieve their goals. Strong communication, influencing and organisational skills are clearly important – and your experience should include dealing with both young people and senior level personnel in business. You must also bring the tenacity and determination to achieve challenging targets, while first-rate IT abilities and a flexible approach to working hours are essential too.
