My client is a well-respected, nationally recognised main contractor. They are currently looking for experienced individuals to join their Manchester based team in a Planning capacity. Typical projects include design and build schools, university buildings, high-rise office towers and healthcare projects with typical values ranging between £20m and £50m. For this role, they are willing to consider either experienced planners or individuals currently working in a Site Management or Site Engineering capacity who are looking to transition into a planning role.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the programme preparation and management for a number of construction projects or a single, large project.
Responsibilities include:

• Liaising with the on-site and project management teams on all planning matters.
• Assisting in the production of tender information and programmes.
• Analysing and evaluating construction methods, techniques and logistics.
• Attending adjudication meetings and present detailed explanation of programme and methodology.
• Preparing presentations and attending client meetings.
• Preparing the Master / Contract / Managing Programme as well as any supporting information.
• Analysing and/or preparing project progress positions and forecasting project completions.
• Identifying and managing/resolving project risks and opportunities.
• Ensuring that all aspects of safety are taken into consideration when planning a project.
• Maintaining close relationships and liaising with other members of the Planning job family, contributing to the transfer of best practice.

The successful candidate will have the following credentials:

• Extensive experience of working on multi-million pound UK construction projects (preferably within a blue-chip main contractor).
• Relevant CSCS certification.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and an ability to liaise with multiple project stake-holders.
• A HNC or equivalent in construction or another related discipline is preferable.

Salary: £48,000 – £60,000+ package
