Software Engineer

A superb opportunity has arisen for an experienced Software Engineer to work for a leading Automotive Tier 1. Successful candidates will be fluent in written and spoken German, has expertise in CAN tools and will have worked in the automotive domain.

Job Profile:
The Software Team is responsible for the development and release of software for a number of high profile and challenging global applications with European, North American and Chinese vehicle manufactures. A software engineer is required to support diagnostics activities for a specific project.

Principal Accountabilities:
– To act as the primary contact for diagnostics on a specific project
– Review / evaluation of VW specifications and flow down of requirements
– Creation of diagnostics related work products for release to VW
– CAN / Diagnostics testing and fault finding

Essential Personal Characteristics:
– Fluent German (both spoken and written)
– Good knowledge of ISO garage diagnostics
– DOORS experience
– Knowledge of automotive fault handling / reporting concepts (DTCs etc.)
– Familiarity with garage diagnostics tools
– Knowledge of Vector CAN tools (including writing CANalyzer scripts)
– Experience of CAN / Diagnostics testing
– Ability to support fault finding of CAN / diagnostics issues
– Self motivated
– Good communication skills

Preferred Personal Characteristics:
– Knowledge of VW specific garage diagnostics
– Familiarity with VW specific garage diagnostics tools
– ODIS tester
– ODXcreate
