Our client is looking for a qualified finance individual who will be responsible for all aspects of financial accounting, including the improvement of processes and systems.

The role will support and work closely with the Finance and Senior Management teams to provide timely and accurate financial information.

Key responsibilities:

* Prepare monthly financial statements for two German entities
* Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations and lead year-end audit cycles.
* Manage and prepare VAT returns.
* Responsible for all accruals, prepayments and P&L adjustment journals.
* Produce relevant analysis to allow management to make informed decisions.
* Develop key financial and operational performance indicators.
* Perform monthly P&L business reviews and provide high quality analysis and commentary for variances.
* Assist in consolidation reporting across all BUs.
* Interact with other departments in order to research issues and provide financial input to improve upon variances and steer commercials to budget.
* Continuously improve upon systems and processes.
* Maintain governance and an understanding around transactional processes such as PO’s, T&E, employee data etc.

Skills and experience required:

* Graduate level education with demonstrable academic success.
* Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA).
* At least 2 years’ PQE with financial accounting experience encompassing management and financial reporting.
* Have worked and thrived in a fast moving and dynamic commercial organisation operating as a GL or Financial Accountant.
* Strong numerical and analytical skills, confident with all types of data.
* Good communicator with the ability to influence upwards and outwards.
* Sector experience sought includes Retail, Fulfilment and/or Logistics.
* Previous exposure to Private Equity disciplines is an advantage but must have experience in an agile matrix environment.
* Used to working closely with and influencing activity and behaviours across a broad range of commercial departments.
* Strong focus on systems and financial accounting is a major requirement.
* Preferably you should have experience with SAP.
* Strong written and spoken English and German language skills.
