About the Primary Teaching Assistant Role
As a Primary Teaching Assistant at this school you will be supporting teaching and learning across the school and you will be working with a range of creative and outstanding teachers throughout. A large part of your role, at least at first will be supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups to ensure each and every pupil makes the best possible progress. In addition to this you will be heavily involved in the planning of stimulating lessons alongside the class teachers. This exciting Primary Teaching Assistant role will give you the chance to take on full teaching responsibilities where you lead a class once you have developed and demonstrated the required skill and confidence. You will be guided by the schools inspirational Headteacher and learn directly what it takes to produce successful and engaging lessons. To further your development as a future teacher you will be under the stewardship of an outstanding teacher assigned to you at the beginning of your placement. As a Primary Teaching Assistant you will be given the chance to enrol the following year on the School Direct initiative, the school are keen to offer a permanent placement to a candidate who demonstrates the passion and commitment.

Person Specification
This Primary Teaching Assistant role would suit a competent graduate who has an impressive academic record and a 2:1 or better in your degree. You will need to show the dedication to go beyond your usual duties and assist with more important and complex tasks involved in providing a consistently high level of teaching and education.
