Butchery Team Leader

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Butcher looking to make that next step in their career, based in York.

As a Butchery Team Leader you will take overall responsibility for the efficient and effective running of the front and back of the shop floor.

This hugely varied role will involve the following:

Supervising off all Butchery staff and ensuring an effective and constant communication with other departments.
To work with the Operations Manager and Managing Director planning, developing and implementing comprehensive seasonal counter changes to ensure overall consistency and high quality based on such factors as the use of farm/locally sourced produce, food appearance, customer preferences and nutritional considerations.
Taking responsibility and promoting customer satisfaction to the team.
Supervision of stock control at all times, ensuring correct storage and stock rotation, ensuring customer safety, in accordance with company procedures and policies.
To provide on going training for all butchery staff. To ensure consistent, safe and high quality food is served to all customers.
Ensure that excellent standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained throughout the butchery department.
Ensure that the HACCP Food safety management system is implemented, all the relevant temperature checks, etc. are being carried out in a controlled and timely manner, and that all the staff training on the relevant procedures is up-to-date.
To provide daily butchery briefings: ensuring that all staff are made aware of their jobs for the day and pass on any other relevant information: assuring staff`s welfare and contentment.
Develop personal skills and capabilities through on-going training, as provided by the company or elsewhere subject to company approval.

You will have excellent communicational skills as well as having a nurturing nature who is mouldable and not work shy, have at least 3-5 years of Butchery under your belt and is currently managing a team of 3-4 people.
