Transport Supervisor

Pertemps are recruiting on behalf of our client based in Lincoln. Our client are a leading service provider of transportation services across the UK.

Our client has recently been awarded a new contract and are therefore now looking to recruit a full time Transport Supervisor to work Monday-Friday.

The Transport Supervisor will be required to focus on customer satisfaction and good employee engagement in line with our clients company & customer policy, legislation and Health & Safety regulations.

The Role:
•Effectively manage the use of vehicles in line with customer requirement, ensure that all planning is as cost and time effective as possible.
•Understanding and fully utilising our clients operating systems and communication devices, ensuring that all reporting staff are using the systems and devices correctly and in full, to the benefit of the operation
•Ensure correct measures are in place for optimal management of the driver fleet, ensuring consistently meeting customer requirements
•Ensure appropriate controls and procedure are in place and efficiently manage service delivery concerns and failures, in order to protect the company/customer requirements & quality standards
•Ensure the effective micro-management of all variable costs including, but not limited to vehicle and trailer tyre costs. drivers hours and expenses, vehicle and equipment damage & fuel
•Produce & control accurate management reporting as required by senior management
•Ensure cross-trading with other company operations wherever possible to maximise in-house efficiency & profit
•Understanding and meeting the operating licence obligations ensuring all appropriate controls and procedures are enforced.

The candidate
•Previous experience within Transport as a Supervisor, Planner or senior Coordinator
•Ability to work to tight deadlines
•Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Management reporting
•Ability to adhere to legislation
•Excellent Administration skills
