Mechanical Design Engineer

Parker White are currently seeking a mechanical design engineer conversant with AutoCAD and ideally at least one major 3D CAD software (i.e: Solidworks, Inventor etc) to take on a 6-12 month contract within a Sheffield based design consultancy specialising in Heavy Engineering.

My client provide Mechanical design services to a number of clients in various engineering sectors including Aerospace, Materials Handling, Automotive, Nuclear and Defence.

At present they have secured a large package of work for a client of theirs in the Materials handling industry.

Due to this increase in business they are keen to increase their existing design team by one Experienced Design Engineer.

Ideal applicants will have the following skills and experience:

• Fully conversant with AutoCAD
• Skilled in the use of at least one major 3D Modelling CAD software
• Degree Qualified or Apprentice trained in Mechanical Design.
• A background in Heavy Engineering
• A hands on approach to engineering / Engineering mindset

Ideally candidates will be time served engineers capable of problem solving on site. This role will not be suitable for anyone looking for a purely computer based role, an understanding of engineering principles is essential.

Any experience in large scale materials handling equipment would be beneficial and the successful candidate is likely to have 5 years + hands on engineering experience.

In return my client is offering:

• Hourly rate of £30 – £36ph (Depending on skill and experience)
• 40hr Contract weeks (Overtime likely)
• 6 month initial contract (Will extend for the right Engineer)
