Overview
To report into and operate within the Site Engineering Maintenance team. Providing Maintenance support to site wide Systems and Software development for projects.

Works in cooperation with Site EI Engineer and Systems Support Engineer to provide maintenance support and cover across site systems.
Management of External Support Contracts for Site Systems.
Lead and assist with investigation work and able to communicate understanding of how existing code is structured.
Leads development, testing and commissioning of new code for small/medium sized plant modifications (overall project value up to £100k).
Supports and acts as client for larger scale projects. (Large projects can be up to £10m)
Leads development, testing and commissioning of new code for some aspects of larger project based activities. (integration of existing systems to new development).
Works directly with plant and process teams in the development of code specification.
Testing, verifying and commissioning of modifications in a manner that upholds the highest safety and production standards whilst abiding by PQ MOC systems.
Able to manage large workload across multiple systems and plant areas.
Able to manage and respond to multiple internal customer interfaces both upwards and downwards.
Ability to plan and prioritise multiple tasks to ensure smooth business operation, minimal downtime and project critical paths are met.
Assist with HAZOP, CHAZOP, RCA and OEE processes as and when required.
Adhere to site SHE principles and initiates.
Motivated and eager to contribute to continuous improvement at a personal level by learning all site systems and undertaking any necessary training required.
Contributes to wider team developing relationships with technicians and engineers documenting and passing system knowledge on to others.
Good verbal, written and problem solving skills. Able to prepare technical reports and procedures.
Able to plan and prioritise work ensuring critical path and key dates are achieved.
Good IT skills, building on existing proficiency and developing competence in the Company’s systems.

Skillset
There are three main process control systems;

Eurotherm IFIX SCADA
Delta V
Schnieder /IFIX SCADA.

Ideally candidate will have extensive knowledge of at least one of these systems and must have a willingness to learn new systems.
Pack lines are mainly Siemens PLCs so ability to use step 7 and/or TIA portal would advantageous.
Knowledge of Process Instrumentation, variable speed drives and interfacing of motor control equipment.
Excellent understanding of all process plants and control loops. Able to diagnose faults on PLC/DCS/SCADA systems.
Knowledge of industrial networks such as Ethernet based Modbus TCP/IP, profibus etc. would be advantageous.
Recognised apprenticeship or equivalent training scheme, supplemented by training and experience.
HNC in Control/Instrumentation Engineering, or other recognised qualifications.
Software Engineer will be expected to become conversant with PQ Silicas SAP system as used within the Engineering Department.
