Financial Reporting Accountant

Salary: £360 per day

Camden Council are looking for a Financial Reporting Accountant to join their team.

Role Purpose:

• To support production of the Statement of Accounts within the regulatory timetable, delivering key elements of the Statement of Accounts including CIES, Balance Sheet, MIRS and Cash Flow and other Notes to the Accounts, ensuring delivery of high quality working papers

• To co-ordinate and ensure timely production of responses to external audit queries to enable the annual Statement of Accounts to be completed

• To proactively identify areas of weak financial management, risks and pressures and develop and execute plans to improve those, including a check on the financial management processes and procedures in place and whether they are adhered to

• To review the 2019/20 audit findings and lessons learnt, and ensure the improvements in internal controls as recommended by the External Auditor are delivered

• To provide expert technical advice on accounting policies, treatment and working practices

• To lead on VAT reporting and training

• To be proactive in developing the Financial Reporting Team and the offer from Finance to the organisation
