Software Development Manager – Urgent

SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – SWINDON – URGENT

An experienced Software Development Manager is urgently required to join a rapidly expanding market leader as part of their continued success and expansion.

My client is a leader within cloud and big data solutions and have doubled in size within the last 12 months.

This is a new position to support their continued expansion, and a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Development Manager to help shape the future of a dynamic, progressive specialist.

Key Responsibilities:-

* You will be responsible for the delivery of the product backlog
* You will prioritise and organise the order of story delivery so that the multiple Product sprint teams are best utilised to deliver features aligned to the board authorised Product roadmap
* You will liaise with stakeholders across the business including the Principal Architect, Customer Product Owner and Smarter Working Group to help set the product roadmap and prioritise story delivery accordingly
* You will have a strong technical background. You may have been a Senior Java developer, Development Manager or Senior BA in a previous life. Understanding and having used Business Process software would be a bonus
* If you’ve been a product development manager before then we want to hear from you. If you haven’t, you must have a good understanding of why product software development is different to project software development
* You will be comfortable gathering business requirements that you will turn into stories on the backlog with the necessary Acceptance Criteria (BDD experience a bonus)
* You will be able to handle change in a fast moving environment as roadmaps and backlogs will change
* You will be a strong Agile practitioner and have worked in or led teams previously following Scrum, Kanban, MVP etc
* Other responsibilities will include line management of one of the development team functional areas (Front end or Back end developers)
* Be a champion of cloud technology, and agile methodologies
