Nventory & Capital Accounting Supervisor

Job Purpose:

This position plays a pivotal role in the business by providing Accounting Services and maintaining excellent relationships within the Business. The role also has responsibility for the US GAAP closing.

Areas of responsibility are varied including:

• Lead for US GAAP closing for all inventory related entities.
• Responsible for monitoring all inventory transaction in the general ledger.
• Update and maintenance of standard costs in the system.
• Monitor and manage discrepancies due to lost / damaged and incorrectly booked inventory.
• Explain variances between standard cost and purchase costs to management.
• Ensure Sales / Cost of sales / margin variances are explained in a timely manner to the Managers.
• The individual will also need good knowledge on Capital Accounting.
• Ability to differentiate between Capital and Expense cost.
• Responsible for all Fixed Assets ledgers for all entities in EAME.
• This would also entail moving construction in process to the fixed asset ledger when asset goes in service.

Experience / Skills required:

• The Inventory and Capital Accounting Supervisor will demonstrate knowledge and ability to independently handle accounting issues.
• Require relevant accounting experience and recognised accounting qualification or equivalent.
• Candidates must demonstrate high levels of initiative, good judgment and strong organisation skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills are required.
• Good supervisory skills as the position will have direct reports.
• Strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills are necessary for this role as there will be a high level of process improvement required.
