Class 2 Driver

An opportunity is available for a C (Class 2 Driver) to join an award winning company with bathroom and tiles showrooms throughout the UK, in addition to a thriving online operation via its websites. Based in Leigh, Lancashire, the successful Class 2 Driver will earn a salary of £26,270.

As a Class 2 Driver you will be mainly responsible for delivering the highest levels of customer satisfaction and FTS whilst operating within a safe working environment and adopting best practices and legal compliance. Reporting to the Transport Supervisor, your main duties and responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

– Driving Category C vehicles safely, legally and efficiently
– Complying with all drivers hours and Road Transport Directive legislation
– Complying with the mobile workers working time directive legislation
– Loading and unloading vehicle and maintaining safety and security of load at all times
– Acting as company ambassador when dealing with customers
– Completing all paperwork promptly and accurately as required
– Planning and adapting routes as necessary and feedback to traffic office on any issues around load planning and routing
– Operating all vehicle systems including Tail-lift
– Providing support and feedback to colleagues and operations team
– Ensuring the safe delivery of products and the administration of paperwork to a high standard
– Checking all products are loaded and secured to minimise damage
– Reporting any load discrepancies immediately
– Keeping company vehicles clean and tidy at all times

To be considered for the Class 2 Driver position, you must hold and have minimum entitlement to drive category C, C+E vehicles. In addition, you must possess the following key skills and experience:

– Hold or willingness to work towards gaining driver CPC qualification
– Experienced in all aspects of driving LGVs – Driving Goods Vehicle NVQ preferred
– Route planning and map reading ability
– Excellent attendance and time keeping
– Good level of general fitness and stamina
– Reliable and punctual
– Excellent organizational skills
– Awareness of health and safety issues
– Good customer service skills
– Basic numeracy and literacy skills for completing record sheets and paperwork
– Great team player with ability to also work on own initiative
– Knowledge of load restraint procedures
