Scala Software Engineer/Developer – Influential Role – London

Scala Software engineer is required to join a leading cutting edge software house company based in West London. My client is a young, profitable company who do advanced statistical analysis of football. They are looking for an experienced programmer to help them build real-time trading software, work with large datasets, do complex statistical modelling and invent new ways to help their staff analyse football. You will be working mainly with the modelling department, in close cooperation with their statisticians and football experts, building the infrastructure and the foundations of their models. The main language they use for their real-time and modelling systems is Scala, but they use Python and PHP too. They don’t expect you to know Scala, but you will be excited to learn it if you don’t know it already. You should have mastered at least one compiled object-orientated language, have worked on at least
one big software project, and feel comfortable working autonomously on designing/building large scale maintainable and testable systems. The successful candidate will be able to write structured, testable code for their web applications. You should have experience of object-oriented programming in Scala, Java and also some practical experience of building and maintaining commercial applications. If you can show code from Github, that is always a plus. An excellent salary and benefits package is on offer, with interviews available immediately.
