Job Description – Group Finance Manager

Reporting to the Group Finance Director, the finance manager will be a key member of the Finance management team, acting in a business wide role to proactively support the FD to maximise delivered value.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Managing and supporting the finance team alongside the FD
• Ensure compliance with monthly PAYE, CIS and VAT returns
• Provide expertise and oversight in ensuring company software (XERO) is updated in a timely manner whilst ensuring job costing procedures are adhered to all times by all members of the finance team
• Overseeing the P2P system providing guidance and assistance to other finance team members
• Reviewing Assistant Finance Managers workload and responsibilities
• Assist with the preparation of quarterly management accounts ensuring all payroll journals are completed accurately
• Manage the companies bank accounts ensuring all payments are made in accordance with the approval process whilst maintaining sufficient cash reserves to meet weekly expenditure
• Establish and maintain company procedures and controls such as new policies and the procedures manual
• Liaising with bank managers in all company matters such as required online banking limits
• Overseeing and approving of payment runs and making payments
• Assist site team with retentions workbook
• Analyse WIP figures on a quarterly basis
• Monitor and manage company cash flow
• Group intercompany reconciliations
• Managing HMRC enquiries and queries as and when they arise
• Assist with HR matters when required
• Complete all pre-qualification paperwork for prospective clients
• Assist and report to the Group Finance Director

The ideal candidate would have:

• + 5 years’ experience within the construction industry
• Qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA/MAAT accountant
• Experience managing a team of +2
• Advanced Excel
