Assistant CAD & Solid works engineer
Our customer is a successful privately owned and managed precision metal fabrication business with a reputation for quality products in mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium working to BS EN ISO 9001:2000 standards
Due to their continued success, they are looking to recruit an additional experienced 3D design engineer with relevant experience to join our design team using Solidworks
The Ideal candidate would need experience with CAD, particularly Solid Works sheet metal, producing full working drawings.
Involvement includes, prototyping, quality, inspection, off-line programming, develop new products and improve production efficiency, assisting in production.
Are you the right person for the job?
- Driving licence is required.
- Solidworks Excel, word and CAD applications
- At least two years’ experience
- Metal Fabrication drawing & design
- Experience of working in small team to high standards, under pressure
- Good communications skills with a strong, flexible team ethic
- Must be able to work on your own initiative
What will your job as a Design Engineer look like?
- To produce designs and drawings to provide solutions for mechanical engineering services, fabrications requirements, suppling our fabrication workshops, site teams and external clients.
- Liaise with our Project Managers to establish project requirements
- Site measure as required
- Liaise with our Engineers as required
- Ensure that design solutions are accurate, on time and cost-effective
- Consider the optimal fabrication and installation procedures during the design process
- Create 3D models for the design solutions using Solidworks.
- Produce accurate approval drawings which fully detail our proposals
- Produce accurate and timely manufacturing drawings which fully detail what is to be made
- Produce exported files for use by our subcontract suppliers
- Take a flexible approach to your work and support the rest of the team as required in order that we meet deadlines.
