Up to £19,568 + enhancements

I am looking for experienced Support Workers to work with adults with complex learning disabilities/autism, challenging behaviour and associated mental health conditions in supported living in Central Northampton. The residents will be coming from either an institutionalised environment or living away from home for the first time so you will be required to help them integrate and live independently in the community.

Duties will include:

* Supporting residents to express themselves and make informed choices and decisions about their lives in a way that respects their dignity and rights

* Helping residents to live independently, this could including making friends, socialising, learning new skills and hobbies to helping cook and clean

* Following and reviewing care and/or support plans with residents user and recording progress of plans

* Enabling residents to make informed choices

* Administering and recording day-to-day financial transactions

* Maintaining Health and Safety records and responding to health and safety issues

The successful Support Worker will have the following:

* Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health issues

* A willingness to deliver personal care

* Physical intervention/restraint training

* The ability to deal with aggressive or challenging behaviour

* An empathetic and compassionate personality

* The ability to work shifts, including sleep-ins

* A willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check
