Housing Options Officer

Working on behalf of our client we are currently recruiting for a Housing Options Officer. The role will be to provide comprehensive advice regarding housing options, prevent and resolve homelessness wherever possible, as well as offering Advice, support and inform those in housing need.

Key Responsibilities:
•Conduct interviews, to methodically assess circumstances and needs according to legislation and policy, and to provide appropriate housing options advice and support to customers.
•Very good knowledge of landlord/tenant law, mortgages and arrears, legal and court process, and an ability to advise customers, landlords and others about their rights and responsibilities, and to represent clients in court.
•Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of housing and homelessness legislation, Part VII decisions, and of the local authority role in preventing homelessness.
•Very good written and oral communication skills, including the ability to write clear and concise letters and reports, including complex decision letters on intentionality issues.
•Ability to work efficiently in a demanding and fast-paced environment, with ever changing priorities and challenging or complex cases.
