They have an exciting opportunity for a Configuration Engineer to join the company. This role would suit a candidate with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of configuration management and engineering.
Role description
Act as the key Configuration Management (CM) interface with the customer on nominated Programmes
To create and manage the configuration management plans
Maintenance of information about Configuration Items throughout their lifecycle from purchase to disposal
To undertake discovery analysis and report on CI usage, status and changes
To support As Designed, As Planned, As Built configuration audits
To ensure a high level of CI data integrity
To co-ordinate impact assessment of requests for change
To facilitate the periodic Change Control Boards (CCBs)
To handle emergency changes and ensure correct approval has been obtained
To ensure there is quality information in change requests
To report on the change process performance
Requirements & skills
The ideal candidate will have one or more of the following;
Experience in a similar Configuration Engineering role within the Aerospace industry
Ability to understand and interpret Engineering Drawings
Experience carrying out As Designed, As Planned, As Built configuration audits
Experience in creating configuration management plans is desirable but must have experience managing configuration plans
Able to work effectively under own initiative and as part of a Team
Ability to identify problems and independently find resolutions
Ideally educated to degree level in a relevant discipline, or able to demonstrate significant relevant on the job experience
Ideally CMII Qualified, or working towards qualification
