Our client is an award winning residential developer based in the Chelmsford area. Due to organic growth generated by the high demand for their high quality homes, they are currently looking for a senior planner to join their planning team.

The main responsibilities will be the formation of planning policy, strategic land promotion, handling the development management process and implementing community engagement strategies. You will be working on the identification of future land acquisition opportunities, devising planning strategies, managing consultant development teams, drafting the statements required for the submission of planning applications and delivering immediate or long term planning projects on a variety of scales.

ROLE:

* Manage all facets of the day-to-day promotion of all current planning application

* Provide advice to the Land and Technical teams on identified housing sites e.g. carrying out site investigations, producing and interpreting planning reports, pulling together planning packs

* Monitor progress of planning status

* Manage all external consultants involved in the planning applications / promotions

* Liaise with Council Planning Offices

* Negotiate S106 terms with legal teams

CANDIDATE:

* Degree Qualified Planner or Chartered Surveyor

* RTPI and/or RICS accreditation, 5 plus years’ experience with a local authority, house builder or private consultancy

* Experience in planning policy and project management

* Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills

* Possession of driving license and, ideally, good knowledge of the local area

* Ability to work on their own initiative, self-manage and prioritise own workload and manage assistant

* PC Literate
