Payroll / Finance Assistant

ROLE SUMMARY

The post holder will be responsible for the payroll calculation and monthly payments to staff for various sites with the group, and also responsible for various financial duties as outlined below. The post holder must have past proven experience of completing the duties as detailed within the job description as well as experience of using Microsoft word and excel. Experience of using Sage 50/200 would also be an advantage. They must have a confident manner and must communicate well with staff while ensuring to maintain confidentiality at all times.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Accurate calculation of monthly staff hours to be paid from staff timesheets and Bio-metric time and attendance system, including the calculation of basic hours, overtime hours, holiday pay, sick pay, maternity pay and any other payroll adjustments required.
Submission of payroll information to the payroll bureau within given timeframes.
Creating and maintaining control systems to ensure payroll checks are completed and to ensure information is correctly processed and paid.
Analysis of payroll and other information for the production of P11Ds.
Resolving payroll queries in a professional and confidential manner.
Sales and purchase ledger duties including raising, matching and processing invoices and purchase orders, full supplier statement reconciliations, payments and debtor collections.
Responsible for the petty cash, including maintaining controls, issuing, recording and posting of monthly transactions.
Production of financial analysis as required.
Maintaining patient allowances controls, including updating of patient statements, issuing of cash, and reconciliations.
Bank reconciliations.
Intercompany transaction posting and balancing.
Undertake any other duties as requested by the management accountant/financial controller.
Devising and maintaining filing systems that are appropriate to the needs of the service.
