Data Migration Consultant

One of my public sector clients is looking for a Data Migration Consultant to come and join their team on a remote basis on an initial 3-month contract. Public sector expieirnce is sought after.

• Gain understanding of a newly developed application, onboarding business rules to produce:
• Migration scripts to import from a 3rd party database
• Data validation in accordance with application business rules prior to importing to target database.
• Produce migration documentation, mapping source to target.
• Upskill current development team on scripts and mechanisms used during import.
• Provide post import test plan to ensure data integrity.

Experience

• Extensive data migration expertise (SQL Server)
• Data migration planning & execution.
• Data migration testing and roll-back planning/execution.
• Extensive experience getting acquainted with a new application it’s backend, quickly and making migration recommendations.
• Importing from third party databases to newly created SQL server databases.
• Migration documentation experience.
• Making data migration best practise recommendations and implementing them.

Upskill the development team on the import process once completed. Handing over all knowledge to be supported going forward.
