Information Systems Business Partner

On-going contract paying up to £720 per day

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

An experienced Information Systems / Information Technology Business Partner is required for a multinational blue-chip organisation’s Information Systems Management group.

The Business Partner will be responsible for the engagement process for new requests, co-ordinate with key players in the IS Group (solution architects, business consultants, delivery teams) to get the requirements solutioned, effort estimates, developments scheduled, and ultimately delivered to the business.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This Business Partner role has three key areas for responsibility; an engagement management role, a general “account management” role and a “release manager” role.

The engagement management role is:

Identify opportunities in the business and propose solutions, understanding short term needs & medium/long term strategies pursued by the Business Owners

Ensure initiatives are solutioned by Solution Architects and costed
Support the business in securing approvals (e.g. IS Governance Board)

The account management role is about partnering with the Business users to:

Act as a recognised single point of contact for all business application considerations, and vice versa for the recognised entry point to the Business Owner within IS Group

Act as a query or escalation point, managing service reviews – SLAs, performance management etc.

The release management role is about managing the delivery of changes (projects excluded) to the business. It consists of:

Proposing releases to the business, working with Deployment Planners to ensure that priorities are taken into account throughout Plan Development

Getting releases approved by Governance bodies, managing the release planning.

Keeping the business aware of progress, including of issues with the delivery schedule

Preparing the User Acceptance Phase with business owners and ensuring timely resolution of problems with the Delivery teams

Preparing the production migration and associated readiness checks for the releases
