Specialist Server Engineer (Datacentre)

Specialist Server Engineer – Active Directory, Windows Server, Server Clustering, Datacentre, VMware – Welwyn Garden City – project work and escalated support in a massive datacentre environment

Providing a mix of 3rdline support and project work you will be a Server specialist in a large datacentre environment. As a senior member of the team you will also help to mentor and train junior members and be involved in establishing best practices.

Ideal applicants will have strong support and low level design experience of the following in a large / enterprise scale datacentre environment (100+ servers) –

* Windows Server 2008 /2012
* Active Directory & Group Policy
* System Centre 2008 R2 / 2012
* Clustering & Load Balancing
* VMware virtualisation
* ITIL change / incident / problem best practices (V3 Foundation certification desirable)

Also desirable would be any experience of the following –

* Microsoft Certification (strongly desirable)
* Storage, Backup & Recovery solutions
* Citrix
* Capacity analysis and reporting
* SQL Server Infrastructure
* PowerShell Scripting

Supporting an always on datacentre there will be an element of escalated on call required for major incidents as well as occasional flexibility in working hours to support out of hours and non-core time upgrades.

In return a salary of up to £60,000 is on offer as well as a package which includes a bonus.
