Drawing Office Manager

Drawing Office Manager required to join a growing steelwork fabrication business, based near Enfield, London. An excellent salary /package is on offer to the successful candidate. £66,000 – £78,000D.O.E. and negotiable.

The company works on a wide range of steelwork projects that range from portal frames, mezzanine floors, beam and stick as well as Architectural steelwork, i.e. stairs, hand railing, gantries, walkways etc.

Drawing Office Manager Duties include:

• Attend project launch meetings, client meetings etc. as needed.
• Program all detailing work to accommodate drawing issues dates.
• Manage sub-contract drawing offices if work needs to be contracted out.
• Manage and coordinate all technical aspects of multiple steelwork projects.
• Help internal detailers to raise and chase to fruition all RFIs/TQs and attend to drawing program if there are any hold ups – notify relevant internal departments, works, contracts, site etc of potential delays to program.
• Raise variations to contract made by engineers and architects to the QS and amend detailing program if affected.
• Managing the needs, welfare and all personal issues of all Draughtsmen.

Drawing Office Manager Requirements:

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in detailing structural and architectural steelwork.
• Experience using Tekla structures software which is used by the company is required..
• Candidates with Drawing Office management experience are welcome to apply, as are senior steelwork detailers who are looking for the next career move and progression into Drawing Office Management.
• The ability to manage a team of steelwork detailers – to drive and ensure the drawing program / issue dates are met.
• Excellent communication and man management skills are required.
• Full UK driving license.
