Pipework QC / Dc Control Surveyor

THIS IS A STAFF PAYE PERMANENT POSITION. MUST BE LOCAL TO ABERDEEN OR WITHIN COMMUTABLE DISTANCE

AJP recruitment are looking for 2 DC Control Surveyors with Pipework Fabrication QC experience working in a busy Fabrication Facility in Aberdeen.

Qualifications/Competency/Personal requirement;

• Trained to use Mike Lloyd survey software (essential)
• Trained to CSWIP level 3.0 (desirable)
• Time served tradesman (essential)
• Minimum of 5 years in a fabrication background specialising in pipework
• Inspection experience
• Supervisory experience (desirable)
• Ability to coordinate internal and 3rd party resources
• Accuracy in all aspects of work
• Proficient in using Microsoft office – mainly Excel (desirable)

Key responsibilities;

• To carry out dimensional control of pipework using laser survey equipment (Mike Lloyd survey software)
• To carry out pre and post visual weld inspection ensuring that all aspects of dimensional tolerances for fabrication are adhered to
• To assist with ensuring that remedial works are carried in the most productive manner possible
• To collate and update weld history logs
• To undertake visual inspections prior to final release
• To assist with maintaining material traceability
• To assist with ensuring that in-progress fabrication is being completed correctly and within tolerance
• To carry out in-progress inspection of fabricated pipework
• To assist with ensuring that the correct revision of drawings are being issued and getting used in the workshop
