Design Engineer

Salary: £42,000 – £48,000 per year

An opportunity for an experienced Design Engineer is available to join my client. They are a leading manufacturer of high strength fabricated systems used in material handling, quarry, construction and a wide range of other industries. Their ideal candidate will have design software experience with Creo 3D or similar, FEA, as well as development and test of fabrications and components

Design Engineer role:

Working as my client design engineer you will report to the Commercial Manager and be responsible for the following:

• Designing and developing fabrications / components
• Specification of gearboxes, idlers and rollers.
• Keep up to date customer specifications using the companies database
• Resolve quality issues throughout each project
• Work with and visit customers and suppliers to improve quality and other issues
• Develop processes to assist and support the quality team
• Manage customer site project sign offs
• BOM’s

Design Engineer requirement:

• Proven experience as a Design Engineer
• Educated with a relevant engineering discipline HNC or degree level ideally
• Proven 3D CAD skills CREO or similar package
• CAD based FEA package
• Good knowledge of design for fabrication
• Able to produce and read manufacturing drawings
• Strain Gauging knowledge to include testing and interpreting results
• Excellent communicator both verbally and written.
• Able to multi-task with excellent organisational skills

Design Engineer package:

• Salary £42,000 – £48,000DOE
