Packaging Manager

Packaging Manager: An exceptional Packaging Manager from a packaging line background is required to ensure the smooth running of the various packaging areas, to ensure that quality and high standards are maintained.

Reporting to the Operations Manager and supported by the Packaging Supervisor, this is a new vacancy for a Packaging Manager to join a leading specialist contract candle manufacturer that supplies premium brands and retailers across Europe.

Responsibilities:

– Manage the Line Supervisors and packing area staff
– Ensure correct components are in place at the start of each job
– Ensure transition from one job to another takes place as quickly as possible
– Ensure line clearance procedures must be carried out
– Preparation and printing of batch coded items
– Completion of all relevant documentation required within the pack off area
– Carrying out quality control checks as required in association with the QA Manager
– Manage the cleaning of the packing areas including the washing of cloths
– Manage the packing lines with the Line Supervisor to ensure all candles are packed off according to the pack off specification sheets
– Liaise with Operations Support Manager daily with regard to achieving pending sales
– Ensure the factory is locked at the end of the day – all doors and windows

– Proven operations experience from a manufacturing background
– Strong management skills
– Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
– Excellent organisational skills
– Ability to prioritise and co-ordinate a number of work tasks
– Ability to work under pressure
– A will to exceed customer expectations
– Ability to work as part of a team or own initiative
– Good attention to detail
