Based in Aberdeen and reporting to the UK RIG BU Financial Controller, the Senior Financial Accountant will play a key role in the accounting preparation for the clients Rig companies. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Full responsibility for the preparation and submission of the monthly income statement and fully reconciled balance sheet for Rig Aftermarket and Rig Equipment UK.
* Review and approve the VAT returns and other government submissions
* Coordination of internal and external audit and statutory requirements in conjunction with the Financial Controller
* Responsibility for the timely preparation of the quarterly SOX compliance documentation
* Review and timely submission of the weekly cash forecast
* To review & approve various cash transfers and payments both at a ledger lvel and wider group level
* To provide financial information and analysis for ad-hoc requests and actively participate in other projects where relevant
* To provide adhoc cover for the financial controller where appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS
* Degree in Accountancy & Finance or equivalent (essential)
* Qualified accountant (essential)
* Previous experience working within a GL accounting environment (desirable)

EXPERIENCE
* Extensive knowledge of working within a financial / accounting environment (essential)
* Knowledge of US GAAP standards (essential)
* Working knowledge of SOX reporting (desirable)

SKILLS, TRAINING, SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE
* Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook)
* Experience working within Glovia and Oracle ERP systems (desirable)
* Previous ERP implementation experience (desirable)
