International Trading Company is seeking for Senior Economics & Politics Analyst.
Title: Senior Economics & Politics Analyst
Salary: up to 90K
Location: City (Hybrid)
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
The main purpose is to support senior management and Business Units analysing economic and political situations which could affect Business activities within Europe-CIS region and providing relevant information in accordance with their needs.
POSITION IN ORGANISATION
Reports to the Department General Manager (DGM) and will manage 2 members of staff in Brussels (and possibly more in London).
SCOPE OF JOB
• Monitor and Analyse the economic and political situation and foreign affairs within Europe-CIS region
• Share intelligence regarding geopolitical, economic and political situation, as well as country risk within Europe-CIS region with senior management and Business Units to facilitate them to understand what is happening in Europe-CIS region
• Develop and coordinate information network with external entities such as think-tanks, Universities, governmental institutions and embassies within Europe-CIS region to facilitate business activities
• Attend external seminars or symposiums across the region to collect information and develop an information network
• Visit countries throughout the Europe-CIS region to collect information and extend the company’s information gathering network
• Manage and help to develop the potential of members of staff of the Department in Brussels (and possibly London)
• Support the development of other business intelligence functions in the EMEA & CIS region
• Collaborate with SCGR and relevant departments of Tokyo HQ.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/PERSONAL QUALITIES
Qualifications:
• Essential: Master’s Degree (or equivalent in terms of experience) in Economics or a closely related subject
• Preferred: Master’s Degree or above, specifically in Economics or International Relations
Skills:
• An excellent level of economic, political, international relations and business analytical skills
• Excellent networking skills
• Oral and written fluency in English plus fluency in another European language e.g. French or German
• Regional specialisation in economics and/or international relations, to some extent involving the EU
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Excellent written presentation skills
• Logical and critical thinking skills
• Budgeting and/or cost control experience
Personal qualities/Attributes:
• Self-driven and proactive
• Comfortable in dealing with senior management and with public speaking
• Able to travel regularly within the EMEA-CIS region and engage with a wide range of business stakeholders
• Be a trusted mentor and manager to junior staff
EXPERIENCE
• Experience in working at a senior level in a think tank, university or research department, such as in a global industrial or financial institution
• Experience in writing analytical research reports
• Experience managing a team
Preferred:
Experience in supervising and conducting region-specific study
