Salary: £48,000 – £72,000 per year

Job Title: Intermediate Building Surveyor

Job Type: Permanent 

Location: Plymouth

My client are a growing multi-discipline practice with 5 offices across the South of England. Due to their continued success they are looking to appoint a motivated Intermediate Building Surveyor to assist with an increasing workload within their Sevenoaks or Chichester Office. The successful candidate will be required to act on behalf of both public and private sector clients across a complete range of projects. You are likely to be newly Chartered or are looking to get Chartered in the short term. You must be capable of demonstrating experience for the role advertised and now looking for a ‘step up’ in your career.

Job Summary:

The role encompasses a mixture of traditional building surveying and project management across a variety of different sectors, including but not limited to education, social and privately owned housing, local authority, education, property development, ministry of defence and conservation. No one day will be the same and the candidate will be expected to work both as part of an experienced team of Building Surveyors as well as being entrusted to take sole responsibility for managing their own projects from inception through to completion. The candidate will be relied upon to help promote the practice and continue to develop and maintain client relationships. Limited travel will be expected to be undertaken across the region to fulfil the requirements of the role and the diverse range of work.

The candidate would be expected to be proficient in the use of AutoCad as well as at least have a basic understanding of professional services.

Key Duties

• Undertaking refurbishment projects ranging from £50,000 to £2,000,000

• Manage traditional and D&B new build and refurbishment projects

• Client management

• Contract administration

• Preparing tender packages

• Conducting a variety of different building surveys

• Setting an example and assisting junior team members
