Family Law Solicitor / Legal Executive

Salary: £36,000 – £43,200 per year

I am looking to recruit a solicitor/ legal executive advocate to join my client’s family Law team. The vacancy arises because of very high caseloads within the department so the successful candidate would be coming into a substantial existing caseload, they would anticipate that they would develop their own referral network building on existing connections. The current care team consists of two panel member solicitors supported by a secretary, paralegal, and trainee solicitor. We are looking for someone either on the panel or ready to apply for panel membership (3 years + PQE), support with an application for panel membership could be given.

The candidate needs to have a good grounding in all aspects of care proceedings including undertaking advocacy at least in case management/ issues resolution hearings and to be keen to develop their advocacy skills as we try to provide continuity of client service and client care by keeping advocacy in house where appropriate. They need to be confident dealing with legal aid matters (billing is done in house by a costs draftsman).

The role is full time, but they are open to a hybrid office/home working pattern subject to the needs of the clients and firm and of course the ongoing public health restrictions.

My client is based in Wakefield city centre. There is no on-site parking but there is plenty of parking in Wakefield and we are close to the train and bus stations.
