Electrical Technical Director Critical Systems – London or other UK locations – to £120k plus benefits
A leading international Multi discipline consultancy is urgently looking for an Electrical Technical Director to join their thriving business. This role can be located anywhere in the UK, preferably around the London region. You must have experience of Data Centre projects to be considered for this role. My client is looking for technical excellence and are willing to be creative for the best candidates. My client is willing to consider people from outside of the UK.
As a Technical Director, you will manage effectively a chosen electrical team, to ensure projects are delivered technically correct and on time.
We will count on you to:
Provide positive and effective management and set an example to other members of the team.
Encourage project team engineers to a high level of performance.
Report any performance problems to the Senior Director.
Undertake staff APC’s and CPD activities.
Provide technical management
Ensure technical compliance and quality production of all deliverables
Sign off all reports.
Attend Client meetings/policy meetings.
Ensure all deadlines are met.
Record any changes of scope.
To ensure that all project design responsibilities are effectively undertaken.
Assist other Directors in Project Delivery as required.
Structure training and succession of the teams to enhance performance and ensure future engineering expertise in Practice.
Support the Management Team in running the Practice and assist in QM execution.
Support the management of the Practice taking on duties as agreed.
Undertake engineering activities on an as needs basis and where appropriate act as Design Team Leader.
Ensure No Claims are made on PI, ensure all Contract documents are diligently checked.
Subject to approval – interview and recruit new team members.
Control standard in – house technical documents and guides.
Carry out third party design audit’s as necessary.
Maintain register and carry out Technical audits on projects as required.
Ensure Quality Management System ISO 9001and 1401

Management Meetings
Group Leader Meetings/Resource Planning
To attend meetings promptly, be prepared for meeting and to have previously carried out all actions. To ensure all meetings are effective and productive.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Extensive experience, especially in designing and managing projects, ideally 10 years’ industry experience.
of monitoring contract staff or third-party appointments would be desirable.
Skills in project managing on-going jobs.
Experience in the same or similar position is desired.
Excellent presentation and communication skills.
Competency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint.
The ability to project a positive and professional attitude at all times.
Educational qualifications to a degree level or equivalent are desired.
Chartered Status in chosen discipline preferred and business qualifications if not already achieved.
Good knowledge and use of appropriate project and design analysis software.
Personable and a ‘can do’ attitude with resource management experience.
Able to establish rapport and good working relationships within the project team and Clients.
leadership and people management skills and experience preferred.
To be able to work as part as a team and collaboratively and co-operatively.
