Salary: £36,000 per year
Project Engineer (Mechanical/Electrical) – chemical industry process knowledge and experience – draughting skills – understanding of Siemens Software an advantage – overseas travel a must – based Lichfield, Staffordshire – salary £36,000 + pa plus pension contribution, private medical and life assurance and all company expenses paid.
We are looking for a mechanical/electrical project engineer with experience in organising and liaising with sub contractors, placing orders, site work (possibly overseas) and commissioning
Knowledge of pipe work, pumps, valves, platforms, powder handling and liquid handling systems is required together with a good understanding of electrical systems, software and current regulations.
Candidates for the position of mechanical/electrical project engineer will need to have a HND/ HNC/ONC (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline and an understanding of Siemens Software would be a distinct advantage
Project engineering experience in a process industry and draughting skills are required as is chemical industry process knowledge and experience.
CAD inventor experience would be desirable
All candidates for the position of Project Engineer (Mechanical/Electrical) will need to have report writing and presentation skills and experience of Microsoft Project.
Day to day duties of the mechanical/electrical project engineer will include:
Implementing designs in compliance with Health and Safety Legislation.
Understanding European regulations.
Receiving, interpreting and implementing the requirements of sales engineers and customers.
Being actively involved in the interpretation and development of Client’s design requirements for the bid process and during the contract stage.
Ensuring that project/company quality procedures and business management systems are implemented
Ensuring that all relevant documentation is produced in compliance with legislation, codes and standards and client requirements.
Ensuring that design documents produced in-house are technically correct, clear and understandable
Applying engineering principles in the preparation of calculations, specifications, reports, schedules, drawings and sketches and resolution of engineering challenges
Dealing with sub contractors and main suppliers (including the mother company)
Ensuring preparation of design Health and Safety documentation.
Providing relevant technical information for the delivery of design and construction.
Carrying out, checking and, where authorized approving calculations, specifications, reports, schedules, drawings and sketches
Supervising the installation and commissioning of plant and equipment.
Doing hand over and training with the client?s operators.
To undertake all this, candidates for the position of Project Engineer (Mechanical/Electrical) should have good communication skills at all levels and experience of problem solving & implementation of countermeasures.
You will need to have a flexible approach to work and be able to work weekends and shutdowns as and when required
Benefits include – salary £35,000 + per annum, pension contribution, private medical and life assurance, 25 days holiday, all company expenses paid.
It must be noted that the successful candidate could be overseas up to 30 weeks a year, but never more than 2 weeks at a time.
