Media Intern (French & German Speaking)

An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Gorkana Group as we are looking for a Trainee/Intern to join our European team.

Ideally you are looking for a 3-6 months Internship in London. You will have a strong interest in the media industry and are eager to join the dynamic and fun team in our Old Street Office.

You will be fluent in French, German and English, have a confident and outgoing personality, be organised and have a keen eye for detail.

The main duties of the role are:

• Assist European Team with administrative tasks (sales support, data support)
• To cleanse and verify the existing data to ensure accuracy and detail.
• To expand French/German data through research of new outlets/journalists (including biographies, photos, publication profiles and publication notes and adding to the Gorkana database.
• To build relationships with editorial staff and verify data for French newspapers & publications through email and telephone contact.
System knowledge: Ensure knowledge of Gorkana database functionality is current.
• Ad hoc translations of English documents into French/German
• Interaction with other Gorkana teams, News Teams/Hubs, Marketing

Skills required:

• Interest in the media industry
• Fluency in French/German (native level French / German) and English
• Computer literate
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to conduct productive research via the internet and telephone
• Self motivated with ability to time manage
• Confident telephone manner
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in all languages
• Attention to detail and accuracy in all work

The placement pays £15,600 pro rata per annum and your working hours will be Monday – Friday 9:00am to 17:30pm with one hour lunch.
