Salary: £16.8 per hour
We are seeking a Part Time Information Officer and Research Assistant working between 16 and 17.5 hours per hour split across 5 days ideally. to Joining our team at Farnborough, we are looking for someone who would like to utilise their educational qualifications or work experience gained within the public health, nutrition, dietetics, food technology, biomedical science, medicine, life sciences, nursing, epidemiology, biochemistry or related sectors. We are a leading organisation within the nutrition sector providing advice, information and support to our members across the UK. We can offer you the chance to join a friendly team with the flexibility to work from home during Covid. Also offering 25 days holiday and a salary of £16.8pro rata equivalent to £14 per hour or £12713 annually based on working 17.5 hours.
The Information Officer and Research Assistant will assist the Information Manager in maintaining the information resources and knowledge base, drawing from a wide range of research information, website publications, journals and other relevant sources. To research specific information needs for projects as required. To be responsible for maintaining the Professional membership scheme and the Information Standard accreditation. To act as a point of contact for the Helpline.
Information
Ensure new information coming into the organisation is disseminated to relevant staff members and used, where required, for the Helpline, research, consultancy projects, on-line training courses and in house publications.
Where appropriate, to respond to information requests and technical enquiries from Corporate members and other businesses
Ensure knowledge of current industry sector is maintained at a high level.
Work closely with the Communications Officer to produce articles for the website, social media and editorials etc.
Support the dissemination for product recalls through the website and to individual members
Development and dissemination of newsletters to Corporates, Healthcare professionals and individual members.
Ensure the website is up to date with the latest information working in partnership with the Corporate and Clinical and Scientific Panel.
Work closely with the Communications Officer to produce articles for the website, social media and editorials etc.
Work in partnership with Pharmaceutical companies, government bodies, Food Standards Agency and other charities to promote the work of the company.
Helpline
To act as a point of contact for Helpline telephone and email enquiries, providing help and information to members and other callers as appropriate, and maintain an up to date knowledge of current issues
To work with the other member of the information team in achieving membership targets and financial targets through helpline activity.
Identify opportunities for fundraising and work with the wider team to realise these
Support other members of the team leading projects for the company with information/ research input as required
To undertake all duties in a way that values others, does not discriminate and promotes equality.
To undertake any other duties as may be required from time to time by the Chief Executive.
To be successful in the Information Officer and Research Assistant role you will be seeking the chance to utilise your qualifications and work experience as part of a valued and respected charitable organisation supporting members across the UK. You should ideally be educated to Degree level within a relevant discipline related to nutrition, food, bioscience or medical fields. Ideally you will have a minimum of 1 years relevant work experience gained within one of these sectors, be a confident user of all Microsoft packages and social media.
